At this year’s World Credit Union Conference, Nimo CEO and co-founder Leann Jones took the plenary stage to name a problem every mutual leader knows well: too many decisions, too much complexity, and a room full of vendors who all sound the same.
Drawing on her background in organisational psychology, Leann makes the case that the leaders who get change right share one thing; a clear lens for making sense of what’s in front of them. This lens is ecosystem thinking: solving connected problems with connected solutions, and holding the whole picture in mind with every compliance, technology and member-experience decision.
Her message for the sector is positive. That you’re not behind on this, you’re ahead. Putting the member at the centre and collaborating across the mutual community is ecosystem thinking in practice, it just needs to be applied to your operating and technology decisions.
